It will only turn on when you put the key in the ignition. If it doesnt come with the plug you can probably buy one for a few bucks. I actually noticed the gift card website says cant currently be used online, which im pretty sure it didnt say earlier. If it doesnt come in time i will see if they can refund me the price in store, then repurchase with my wish gift card. Its always a great benefit to be able to chill the fridge at home before loading it with food. Its a bulky item and hard to sell, so its certainly a buyers market IMO. I even see plenty of full size fridges for free, or about 50 on gumtree.
